SPST-NO High Voltage Relays — Single-Pole, Normally-Open Contact

15 models · 5-70 kVdc switching · 5-110 A continuous · Hermetic / vacuum construction · Test equipment, ATE, energy routing

The GIGAVAC SPST-NO family delivers single-pole, normally-open (1 Form A) high voltage relays. The contact is open with the coil de-energised and closes on energisation — the canonical switching element for HV test systems, ATE, pre-charge and energy-routing applications.
Hermetic / vacuum construction enables a wide switching range from 5 kVdc up to 70 kVdc and continuous current from 5 A to 110 A. Coil options include 12 / 26.5 / 115 Vdc with bus wire, turret terminal and flying leads variants.
Where a latching variant of the same frame exists, the model card shows a cross-link; the configurator generates the original Sensata part-no automatically based on contact / coil / mount selections.

TECHNICAL DIFFERENTIATORS

Why SPST-NO Series?

HV Vacuum / Gas-Filled Technology

  • Hermetically sealed contact chamber

Consistent arc extinction independent of ambient humidity, pressure or dust.

  • High dielectric strength

Minimises leakage in the open state — critical for HV safety coordination.

Wide HV Range

  • 5 kV — 70 kV voltage range

From low HV (G81A, G47A) to ultra-high voltage (G71A) under the same contact philosophy.

  • 5 — 110 A continuous current scale

Single family covering test equipment (G81A, 5/10 A) up to main power (G20, 110 A).

Latching Alternatives

  • G61LA · G71LA pulse-latching

For low-power, portable or battery-backed HV systems where continuous coil energy is undesirable.

Fail-Safe Open State

  • Open on coil power loss

System defaults to safe disconnect — natural fit for main HV switches.

  • Conduction on command

Closes the circuit only when the supervisory system explicitly commands it.

Flexible Coil Configuration

  • 12 / 24 / 48 / 110 Vdc coil options

Directly compatible with common industrial and mobile DC bus voltages.

  • Economiser / pull-in profiles

On selected models hold-current is reduced for lower long-term coil consumption.
